It's safe to say that insulating your loft is always a good idea. Loft insulation traps rising warm air and stops it from escaping. It can help you save as much as 20 percent on your energy bill.
In the UK, the total thickness of insulation should be at least 200 millimetres (eight inches) to be fully effective.
When installing this insulation the weave should not be over stretched or compressed, as this will damage its ability to trap heat. Protective clothing must be worn to handle this material, as it can irritate the skin and throat.
Benefits:
- Can be installed by most DIY enthusiasts
- Offers sound absorption
- Fast installation time
We offer two different installation techniques, Cross laid the traditional method, mineral wool rolled out between the joists at 100mm depth and then a second layer 170mm over the top laid at 90 degrees to seal up all the gaps.
